Frequently Asked Questions

As we are designing for a woman's most important day of her life, we often encounter many questions about the design process.  Below are some of the most frequently asked questions to Blair Nadeau Millinery.  Please feel free to always ask us questions, we are here to help and make you look as beautiful as you are on your wedding day!

Can I order a Fascinator Custom Designed?

Of course you can! We absolutely love doing custom designs!  Our collections are designed in line with the Fashion Industry.  We base our collection colours on the hottest colours in fashion and latest trends in fabrics, trims and embellishments, however, we know that these colours and design details don't always relate to a clients personal style, or vision for their wedding, so we are more then happy to design something just for you, for your special day or event!

Can you design for my entire bridal party?

Absolutely! We would love to design for each individual in your party.  Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunts, Flower Girls, Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, you name it, we've designed for them! 

Can you colour match?

Definitely!  We have an extensive library of all the latest colours in feathers that we can review together to come up with the perfect match.  As feathers are hand-dyed, not every colour is available in every type of feather, however, we will do our best to absolutely match as close as possible.  Some feathers however, as they are rare colours, do come at premium cost.

Fabrics we can match exactly.  All we need is a colour swatch (I suggest a swatch from the dress, a matching ribbon or a paint chip from your local paint shop that matches) and we will source the right fabric in the right colour for your beautiful fascinators!

Are all pieces available in ALL colours?

Unfortunately no. Fabric fascinators, absolutely, we can make them in any colour of the world, as long as that colour exists!  Feather fascinators are a bit tricky as some feathers only come in certain colours.  Always ask us however, and we will do our best to accomodate all colour requests!

Can I order from previous collections?

Absolutely.  All of our collections will forever remain on our website - unless a style is discontinued, this happens, but rarely.  Sometimes we don't have the sample anymore, we the ability to try the piece on at the studio might not be there, but we can always try on something similar and design exactly what you are looking for!

If I gave you a picture of something, that I saw online, can you copy it?

Inspiration comes from everywhere.  We are constantly inspired by everything in life, however, as we have a lot of respect for other Milliner's across the globe, ethically we will not recreate another designers work.  Please feel free to show us inspiration pictures at your consultation so we have a clear idea of the type of look you are hoping to achieve, however, we will work with you to design something that is uniquely a Blair Nadeau Millinery design, in a similar inspiration.

How long are consultations, what if i'm running late, and what should I bring?

Consultations are booked for an hour generally.  Please be on time for your consultation.  On the weekends we generally book our appointments back to back in 1 hour time slots.  We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals, however, if an individual is over 25 minutes late, we will have to reschedule the appointment for another time.

If there is a large bridal party with multiple styles being discussed, we can book an hour and a half. 

Please bring with you a picture of your dress, a picture of your desired hair styles, any inspiration you might have and colour swatches.

Where is your studio located, can I just drop by?

Our studio is located in Etobicoke Canada.  We work out of our home, so consultations are by appointment only and are private one on one meetings.

Do you sell to retailers? Do they carry your entire collection?

Yes, we have many retailers that we currently sell to, and we are always adding to our amazing roster of stores.  Unfortunately, no, our retailers don't carry our entire collection.  The buyers of each store have 100% choice in the selection that they buy for their boutiques.  Buys are usually made based on their current selection, seasonal trends, their colour stories etc.  If you are looking for something in particular, but would like to purchase it at our store, please send us an email and we will let you know if that particular retailer may have the item you are looking for in stock.  If not, we would be more then happy to design it for you!

Can I bring my friends to my appointment?

We know how important it is for brides to have their best friends and mom at their bridal appointments, as these are big decisions that are being made.  We would love to meet your friends and family, however, we do ask that you chose 3 of your best entourage at maximum to accompany you.  We would love to be able to meet everyone, but our studio is quaint and we only have 4 chairs!  Please let us know before hand, how many guests you will be bringing with you.

What are your price points and why aren't they on your website?

As everything we make is custom made, our prices really vary.  Our collection pieces has specific price points that we can make available to you once you email us.  We don't post our prices online due to the fact that everything is custom and we don't offer online shopping at this time.

Do you offer discounts?

Unfortunately no.  As every piece is custom hand made by the designer herself, we chose not to discount our pieces.  Each piece is made with the utmost care and love.

Do you ship worldwide?

Absolutely! Just contact us and we can provide you with an approximate shipping rate.  We ship via Canada Post Xpress Post.

How many collections do you design a year?

We are currently designing 1 bridal collection a year that is released every February.  As for our Fashion Fascinator collection, we design 2 collections a year.  1 that is released in February along with our bridal collection and a Holiday collection that is released at the end of August.

Make sure to follow our blog however, as we are always posting pictures of new pieces that we are custom designing.

Do you donate pieces to charity events and auctions?

Absolutely.  We love supporting causes and would be more then happy to donate to fantastic causes.  Please send us an email to discuss your event!

Why don't you offer online shopping? Do you have an etsy store?

At this time, we don't offer online shopping or have an etsy store for a variety of reasons.  The main reason is that we prefer to get to know each and everyone of our customers either in person or via email.  We love our clients and love getting to know them.  We are also so extremely busy with orders from brides that we are currently working with, that we honestly can't maintain an etsy site at this time.  We will eventually, but not in the foreseeable future.
