Wildflower has been a 3 year journey. Originally conceived during the first lockdown in March 2020, months and then years were spent dreaming, designing and realizing a new collection. I named it Wildflower, as I felt myself a bit of a wildflower during the height of the pandemic. I felt lost, I felt out of place, I didn't know what the future held and through it all, I bloomed in what felt like an empty field, all was quiet around me, but there was this burst of creativity, of colour and of hope. I overcame and I flourished.
The entire collection, organically evolved around flowers, nature and a big undertone was the 1960s and 1970s. Decades that I have always looked back on for design inspiration and personal reflection. These 20 years were historical times of societal and political growth and these decades were full of incredible women who had a voice, stood up for what they believed in and were style icons. When we finally captured the collection on film, I found myself drawing inspiration from some of the incredibly strong, talented and stunning women of the 60s & 70s. Diana Ross, Jerry Hall, Donna Summer, Bridget Bardot, Pam Grier, Farrah Fawcett, Elizabeth Taylor, to name a few. I've always been enamoured by these amazing starlets and songstresses and their legacies.
This collection was a labour of love, a team effort and my most favourite collection to date.
